Sun board or Foam board is a versatile, lightweight, and durable sheet material commonly used for various applications. It features a core of polystyrene foam sandwiched between two layers of white clay-coated paper. This material is ideal for mounting vinyl prints, framing backs, and painting. Beyond printing, sun board is frequently employed for prototyping, creating architectural models, and making casting patterns.

In recent years, Sun board has gained popularity for large-format printing and store branding. Photos or designs are printed on self-adhesive vinyl and then mounted onto Sun board, which can be affixed to walls, pillars, or other flat surfaces using double-sided adhesive tape or nails. Alternatively, Sun board can be directly printed using a UV flatbed printer, providing longer-lasting prints that resist peeling.
